New Orleans: A Labor of Love > Download Fundraising Letter Those are our people down there and they need our help. New Orleans: A Labor of Love is organizing to inspire a civic movement of volunteerism among students, churches and community groups, even greater than what we’ve seen since Katrina hit. We are a user-supported clearinghouse, connecting interested volunteers with relief groups and other important resources to help them have rewarding experiences. In other words, we bring order to the chaos of disaster recovery work and support to the embedded relief agencies who are often too busy in the field or under-staffed to recruit and coordinate volunteers externally. We're spreading the word about the ongoing need for volunteers through screenings of the New Orleans: A Labor of Love documentary which follows a group of Los Angeles Valley College student volunteers during their recent trip to New Orleans. New Orleans: A Labor of Love screens this November at 50 campuses, churches and community centers. Volunteers will be recruited on-site. To do this work we must raise $100,000 per quarter.
